PLAYERS - PLEASE READ TODAY 7/14/2023

 HEY TEAM - I NEED YOU ALL TO COMPLETE THIS GOOGLE FORM BEFORE 10PM TONIGHT:


This form is to collect your top FIVE desired jersey numbers and your availability for the little league camp on Monday and Tuesday. All players in our program are encouraged to participate in at least one of the days. If you don't submit any desired numbers then you will randomly be assigned one. 

Make sure  to read the instructions at the top of the google document. Let Coach Freck know if you have any issues.

SUU CAMP DETAILS - DEPARTURE/PACKING

 SUU CAMP JULY 10-13

(no practice for players not attending SUU Camp)

MONDAY 

  • Meet at the school at 8am
    • if you did not get a girdle, Freck will be there at 8am handing them out
    • bus pulls out of the parking lot at 8:30am
    • PACK A LUNCH or bring lunch money
      • bus will stop in Fillmore. There is Maverik, Costa Vida, and Iceberg(I think) 
PACKING LIST
  • LUNCH FOR MONDAY (or lunch money)
  • all required football gear and equipment, including mouth guards
  • cleats
  • tennis shoes(there will be walking)
  • water bottle(64oz or bigger and insulated) there are filling stations but no ice
  • workout clothes for 4 days(team colors)
  • toiletries
  • pillow and blanket(dorm only provides basic sheet)
  • money (if you want to hit the gas station or nearby fast food)
  • SUNSCREEN - each boy responsible for his skin

CAMP SCHEDULE
  • The camp schedule is available on the brochure that has been posted over the last couple weeks and again HERE. The camp is open; parents are welcome to watch any portions including the scrimmages in the evenings. 
PARENT REPRESENTATIVES and BASIC INFO
  • The team is staying on campus in dorm-style housing. They'll have a refrigerator and/or access to one. They'll be about 10 to a dorm. Each Dorm has multiple rooms and bathrooms. They are going to have the time of their lives! 
  • They will be eating cafeteria style for three meals a day ALL YOU CAN EAT. If your player has specific dietary needs, please provide him with those needs.

WEEK OF JULY 3-8TH PRACTICE STARTS UP

Hello football family. Happy Forth of July Holiday weekend(extended into the week!)

Practice starts up again on WEDNESDAY.




SUU CAMP 
  • Fees for the came must be paid BY JULY 7th. Fees are up on myDSD. We apologize for the delay in credits being applied to the myDSD accounts. We are hoping they will be credited by July 3rd. Just keep checking back to your account. It has everything to do with the turn of the new academic year. 
  • Waivers are coming home on Wednesday July 5th, but are also attached HERE if you want to get a jump on filling it out. You can email it back to hilaryvenable@gmail.com by July 7th. I have received a handful and have messaged you back if I have printed them out. 
  • Here is a link to a Camp Brochure that includes a simple itinerary, packing list, meal and lodging info :  

CREDIT FOR FEES ADDED TO MY DSD
  • Card Sales went well this year. The players ended up earning $18 per card instead of the $15 that we originally planned
  • You will see all credits added to fees in this order:
    • SUU Camp(if attending)
    • Summer Conditioning
    • Participation Fees
    • Player Pack 
  • CAMP fees are due by July 7th

COMING DOWN THE PIPELINE
  • Little League Camp is July 17th-18th. Players
  • Golf Scramble July 19th - involves all Varsity Players
  • ServPro Firefighter Challenge - Service opportunity July 20th 
  • July 25th is the day Bountiful is offering free physicals for athletes. This is at 5pm. All the information is listed on the BHS Redhawks Website
  • Now is a good time to go on to REGISTER MY ATHLETE and get that taken care of. That will need to be done by July 25th as well(this has to be done each year for each sport you participate in)
  • All fees are due on July 25th

We hope you all enjoy some time with family and friends. We have a lot of information for this post. We'll go over more details for SUU camp again on the next two Sunday posts, but please note we are trying to get final commitments.


SUU CAMP 
  • Looking for final commitments. Click THIS LINK to see the list that has committed to going to camp. If your players name is NOT on the list and they are planning on going, please contact one of the coaches or a team mom immediately to add them to the list to get their fees paid. OR if they had committed but need to cancel, also contact one of those individuals for the same reason.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 19TH - GOLF SCRAMBLE - Continue with sponsor sales and gathering donations for raffle prizes. Encourage all sponsors to email their logos as soon as possible after turning in forms.  Reach out to any of the team moms with questions or clarification needs.

THANK YOU for the donations of items and time during the tournaments this weekend. The boys were VERY GRATEFUL for those snacks after competing in the hot sun. 

We continue to lift at the high school and condition  at Oak Hills during this second week of Redhawk Football.

MONDAY - equipment handout with a special lifting schedule listed below:

  • 6:30 -7:30 Juniors lift/Seniors equipment 
  • 7:30-8:30 Seniors lift/Juniors equipment
  • 8:30-9:30 Fresh lift/Soph equipment
  • 9:30-10:30 Soph lift/Fresh equipment

FRIDAY- 7v7/Lineman @ 1350 N 400 W, Centerville/Viewmont High School

Keep actively fundraising with banner and golf scramble sales. If you have questions, please reach out to Amber, Shelby, or Hilary. When you are talking to businesses, remember to ask them if they have any donations they'd like to make for the raffle as well. 


7 V 7 and LINEMAN CHALLENGE DETAILS 

  • Everyone meet at 7:15am
    • 7v7 Teams meet at 1350 N 400 W, Centerville, UT 84014(a community park)
    • Lineman meet at Viewmont High School
  • Wear 
    • Red and White T-shirt(*both) or last years 7's basketball jersey
    • Black Shorts
  • What to Bring
    • Cleats
    • Gloves(optional)
    • Gallon Water Jug - bring enough water to sustain you all day
    • Any dietary necessities, including lunch or snacks (the team will provide something equivalent to Gatorade, granola bars, banana and/or orange slices, not to sustain the boys all day)
  • Play starts at 8am and will be completed by 12:30

Parents are welcome to attend the tournament. Bring a lawn chair and whatever else you need to be comfortable. Typically the boys will travel around a large field so there will be movement each game. the Lineman challenge is typically setup in one section of the field and boys will move between stations.

THE FIRST OFFICIAL WEEK OF FOOTBALL 2023 STARTS NOW!

The entire summer schedule is listed on the sidebar under 'Important Links' in a list view and calendar view. Pick your poison. That will give you the best general overview for the season. Sunday night we will post the current weeks' schedule with any coach updates. IF there are changes, you will see them through a text/email and/or on a blog post.

7 v 7 INFORMATION

FRIDAY, JUNE 9th @ WEBER for VARSITY 
  • Meet at Ellison Park in Layton (700 North 2200 West, Layton, UT 84041) at 7:00am
  • Wear 
    • Red and White T-shirt(*both) or last years 7's basketball jersey
    • Black Shorts
  • What to Bring
    • Cleats
    • Gallon Water Jug
    • Any dietary necessities, including lunch or lunch money (the team will provide something equivalent to a granola bar, banana, and/or orange slices)
  • Tournament will run all  morning with the Championship game at 1pm

SATURDAY, JUNE 10th  @ GRANTSVILLE for JV/Soph/Fresh/LINEMAN
  • Meet at 8am
    • LINEMAN and Varsity at Grantsville High(155 East Cherry Street, Grantsville, UT 84029)
    • JV at the park across the street from the High School
    • SOPH/FRESH at Grantsville Jr. High (318 South Hale Street, Grantsville, UT 84029)
  • Wear 
    • Red and White T-shirt(*both) or last years 7's basketball jersey
    • Black Shorts
  • What to Bring
    • Cleats
    • Gloves(optional)
    • Gallon Water Jug
    • Any dietary necessities, including lunch or lunch money (the team will provide something equivalent to a granola bar, banana, and/or orange slices)
      • There will be a snack bar and food trucks available 
  • Each field will have a slightly different timeline. Bracket play begins at 11:30am.

Parents are welcome to attend the tournament. Bring a lawn chair and whatever else you need to be comfortable. Typically the boys will travel around a large field so there will be movement each game. the Lineman challenge is typically setup in one section of the field and boys will move between stations.
