Week of July 31- August 4th - RED and GREY/Team Pics/Mandatory Parent Meeting

 Happy Second week of Fall Camp and one week closer to the start of FOOTBALL! It's actually a busy week with parent involvement:

Administration has planned a 30-45 minute mandatory parent meeting for all Fall sports that is being help on Tuesday, August 1st at the Auditorium. The meeting starts at 6pm.

Team Pictures are on Wednesday

And Thursday is the Red and Grey Scrimmage. We have a signup that we ask each of you to please find a one our time slot to sign up for. We really appreciate your willingness. Volunteers receive discounted game day shirts! All proceed from the fundraising support the players.

WEEK OF JULY 24-29 FALL CAMP - REGISTER MY ATHLETE - PHYSICALS

A huge thank you to all that helped organize and carry out the Golf Scramble on Wednesday. It was a success and a lot of fun!

Only a few weeks before the season starts and we've had a few questions about the schedule. 

1- The schedule is updated on our calendar view as far as Principal Warnick has released. The rest is the old schedule. We don't have final dates for homecoming or senior night right now. 

2 - FEES DUE July 25th. Credits for fundraising should be uploaded to your MYDSD account. All fees are due July 25th. If you need an exception, please contact Coach Freck.

3 - ATHLETE PHYSICALS date has been updated to July 26th. FOOTBALL is at 5pm. After the physical is complete, upload it to REGISTER MY ATHLETE to finish that. 

4 - RED AND GREY is Thursday, August 3rd at Viewmont High School. Tailgate starts at 6pm, scrimmage is at 7p. Please sign up for a one hour time slot HERE. We appreciate the efforts that have already gone in to the planning.

First things - The calendar view of the schedule has been updated with game schedule. If you read Principal Warnick's email, he mentioned where are first few games would be played in place of our home field. Check that schedule out HERE. 

LITTLE LEAGUE CAMP-MONDAY AND TUESDAY

Parents that signed up to help please be at Rockwell Training Facility at 9am Monday morning. Amber and Shelby will be there to direct. Players were asked to sign up for one or both days to assist. 

GOLF SCRAMBLE-WEDNESDAY

ALL VARSITY players are involved. It will be an EARLY to LATE day. No practice for Fresh/Soph.

If you are a parent that signed up to help PLEASE know information is coming. Plan to be there early. Details to come via text.

SENIOR INDIVIDUAL PICTURES - WEDNESDAY @ 8pm

Mama Socci is taking Senior individual pictures at 8pm on Wednesday evening at the school. Seniors be there at 7:45 next to the concessions, wear your red jersey. Pics will be chest up. It won't take long. 

SERVPRO FIRE FIGHTER SERVICE PROJECT - THURSDAY

RED AND GREY GAME - Thursday, August 3rd

This is a fun night to gather as a community and cheer on the start of the season. It's also a fundraiser to raise funds to feed the boys all season long. We will have tailgate games free for the kids to enjoy! But bring your families hungry! We'll be serving pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs, Nothing Bundt Cakes, and Pace Bars! We've got temporary tattoos for the kids and game day t-shirts for the family, not to mention some great auction items from your favorite Utah universities. But we WILL NEED YOUR HELP to pull it off. A sign up genius will go out next week to sign up for blocks of time to help serve, man games, set up and clean up. Thank you to the committee that has worked hard to put this together!

This form is to collect your top FIVE desired jersey numbers and your availability for the little league camp on Monday and Tuesday. All players in our program are encouraged to participate in at least one of the days. If you don't submit any desired numbers then you will randomly be assigned one. 

Make sure  to read the instructions at the top of the google document. Let Coach Freck know if you have any issues. 

SUU CAMP DETAILS - DEPARTURE/PACKING

 SUU CAMP JULY 10-13

(no practice for players not attending SUU Camp)

MONDAY 

• Meet at the school at 8am
• if you did not get a girdle, Freck will be there at 8am handing them out
• bus pulls out of the parking lot at 8:30am
• PACK A LUNCH or bring lunch money
• bus will stop in Fillmore. There is Maverik, Costa Vida, and Iceberg(I think) 

PACKING LIST

• LUNCH FOR MONDAY (or lunch money)
• all required football gear and equipment, including mouth guards
• cleats
• tennis shoes(there will be walking)
• water bottle(64oz or bigger and insulated) there are filling stations but no ice
• workout clothes for 4 days(team colors)
• toiletries
• pillow and blanket(dorm only provides basic sheet)
• money (if you want to hit the gas station or nearby fast food)
• SUNSCREEN - each boy responsible for his skin

CAMP SCHEDULE

• The camp schedule is available on the brochure that has been posted over the last couple weeks and again HERE. The camp is open; parents are welcome to watch any portions including the scrimmages in the evenings. 

PARENT REPRESENTATIVES and BASIC INFO

• The team is staying on campus in dorm-style housing. They'll have a refrigerator and/or access to one. They'll be about 10 to a dorm. Each Dorm has multiple rooms and bathrooms. They are going to have the time of their lives! 
• They will be eating cafeteria style for three meals a day ALL YOU CAN EAT. If your player has specific dietary needs, please provide him with those needs.

WEEK OF JULY 3-8TH PRACTICE STARTS UP

SUU CAMP 

• Fees for the came must be paid BY JULY 7th. Fees are up on myDSD. We apologize for the delay in credits being applied to the myDSD accounts. We are hoping they will be credited by July 3rd. Just keep checking back to your account. It has everything to do with the turn of the new academic year. 
• Waivers are coming home on Wednesday July 5th, but are also attached HERE if you want to get a jump on filling it out. You can email it back to hilaryvenable@gmail.com by July 7th. I have received a handful and have messaged you back if I have printed them out.

• Card Sales went well this year. The players ended up earning $18 per card instead of the $15 that we originally planned

• ServPro Firefighter Challenge - Service opportunity July 20th 
• July 25th is the day Bountiful is offering free physicals for athletes. This is at 5pm. All the information is listed on the BHS Redhawks Website
• Now is a good time to go on to REGISTER MY ATHLETE and get that taken care of. That will need to be done by July 25th as well(this has to be done each year for each sport you participate in)
