OFF SEASON UPDATE / ALL-REGION TEAM - 11/27/2023

Off-Season Update

Congrats again to everyone for a really fun and special season. We put together a magical run and I was proud of everyone. It really takes everyone for something like that to happen so a big thank you again.

Here are some important dates and info as we enter into the off-season

Equipment Turn-In

Wednesday during football class and before school (8-9:15am) OR after school (2:30-4pm) for those who don’t have a class. 

**Please wash all uniforms and remember your knee pads (do not turn in any girdles or practice jerseys).

Basketball Game 11/29

This Wednesday night we would like to attend the home basketball game as a football team. Please arrive by 6:45 PM and cheer from the student section. Represent our football team proudly by cheering loud and for our team. Students get in for free with a student ID. If you cannot attend please let Coach Freck or Coach Walker know.

Banquet

We are currently planning our team banquet with the date being in January. Details will be released in the coming weeks.

Off-Season

We will begin working on our spring/summer schedule for the 2024 season. Once we have dates we will send those out. 

All current 9th, 10th, 11th graders are invited and encouraged to be in Football class 1st OR 5th period for second semester. If you are not in one of those classes your counselor can help you get in by contacting Lisa Day at the High School. If you have any issues or concerns please let me know.

All-Region Team

The following individuals have been selected to the all-region team. We know it takes a team effort for individuals to succeed. Congrats to these guys for this well earned accomplishment.

The all-state team will be announced in the coming days.

Playoffs!! Congrats to everyone for earning the #10 seed for the tournament. The RPI can be a funny thing but I like our draw. We need to be locked in and focused for this week's opponent and earn the opportunity to play another week. We have a couple of wrinkles to the schedule for this week so pay attention to the dates and times.

Another congratulations to the FROSH team for their success and improvements made this season. We know the future is bright for Bountiful Football. As we switch gears to playoff mode we will continue to follow the model from the last couple of seasons. All sophs will be invited and encouraged to join us for our playoff run. To keep numbers manageable we only invite freshman that we feel will be able to make an immediate impact on the scout teams. The list of freshman at the bottom of this email has the freshman who are being invited to join us for playoffs. If your name is not on the list, thank you for your contributions and we hope to see you back next year. 

Practices will be focused on Varsity and some may not desire to come to practices and games and not participate. We understand this and encourage anyone not participating to go and join another sport (we love multiple sport athletes). Any one who is going to continue on for playoffs needs to commit to being there everyday. It will not be a sometimes there, sometimes not situation. For games, we will dress and travel as many players as we have space for. This could change week to week to highlight players who are performing well in practices. If you have questions or concerns about this please reach out directly to Coach Freck. 

The last big thing we have this week to add is the end of the term. Remember that any student with more than one F or below a 2.0 will not be eligible to continue playing. All players need to prioritize homework and improve grades. Grades will be finalized next week on Monday. Again, if there are any questions or concerns please reach out to Coach Freck.
