6/1/2025 Weekly Email

Hey Team,


We hope everyone is enjoying the beginning of summer. We are excited to officially get football started this week. Below is the weekly schedule and a couple important announcements. Remember to refer to the blog with any questions or reach out to a team mom or coach:

Weekly Schedule:

MONDAY - Off

TUESDAY - Off

WEDNESDAY - Weights
Group A 6:30 to 7:30 AM
Group B 7:30 to 8:30 AM
Group C 8:30 to 9:30 AM

*Groups will be sent out tomorrow. If anyone is not listed, reach out to Coach Freck or attend any of the workout groups for this week.

THURSDAY - Conditioning
Everyone from 6:30 to 8:30 AM. Bring cleats, water, and running shoes

FRIDAY - 7-on-7 Practice from 8:00 to 9:30 AM
*This will be specifically for those attending the BYU Royal Clash but any skill player is welcome to attend. 

SATURDAY - BYU Royal Clash 7's Tournament (Varsity & JV Teams)
*Check-in will begin at 11:00 a.m. with games beginning at 1:30 p.m. The varsity and JV championship games will be played under the lights at LaVell Edwards Stadium.

Schedule Update:

We are officially changing the 7-on-7 competition from the Ute Shoot on Saturday, June 14th to the Utah St 7-on-7 on Thursday evening, June 12th. This will be both a Varsity & JV competition. Unfortunately, there is not a soph/fresh division, but we will have opportunities for the soph/fresh for 7 on 7 down at SUU during camp week. It is scheduled from about 5:30 to 8:30 PM, more information to come. If you have not completed the Summer Camp Attendance form for BYU 7's, Utah St 7's, and SUU camp please do so ASAP (only 19 total players have completed the form).

*We have no scheduled big man competitions at this point. We will look into different opportunities and talk with players.

IMPORTANT SUMMER INFORMATION AND SIGN UPS

 





Parents and Players, this email contains a lot of important information so that we can get started prepping for the upcoming summer and season. Please keep this email handy but it will also be published on the blog for reference.

If you have not completed this form, please do so ASAP. We had 76 out of the 120+ players registered on WarRoom complete it already. Please complete the form even if you do not want a player pack. *Also if you are no longer planning on playing please let Coach Freck know directly and you will be removed from the list (jfreckleton@dsdmail.net)

  • Tournaments - We are quickly approaching our 7v7 camps that will be at BYU and Utah in the next few weeks. BYU will be June 7th and Utah will be June 14th. We will need some equipment donations of tents and coolers as well as some parents to help sit with the individual groups and just make sure that the players and coaches needs are being taken care of.
  • Fundraising - 
    • Discount Cards - We will be having the boys sell the discount cards like we have in the past and those will be distributed on June 12th. I suggest your players start pre-selling these to help let them know if any additional fundraisers need to be addressed for players. $17 of each card sale will go to the players.
    • Saranoni Fundraiser - On June 21st we will be holding a Saranoni Fundraiser in the Bountiful High School parking lot. We need some parents to be able to come and sit with the boys and each boy will take 45 minutes each to help us that day. We will need to be there around 10:30am to help set up and then be packed up by 6:30pm. There is no marketing on Saranoni's part so we need to share the information as much as possible. We will be receiving a portion of the proceeds and other schools have had success with this.
    • Advertising Opportunities - The players have the opportunity to raise funds by going business-to-business and use it as a marketing option for banners as well as sponsorships for the Golf Scramble. See the flyers below. Half of the sales of the banners will go towards the players fees and $100 for golf sponsorships will go to the players (except white sponsorships).
  • Little League Camp - We will need to have a few parents help if you'll be available on those days. This will be held on June 23-24. Easy. 
  • Golf Scramble - There are little things where we need all the hands we can get and this is one of them. We need some to sit at holes with the boys, we need some that will pass out water and spray sunscreen on our boys, we need some that will help with getting sponsors. WHATEVER YOU CAN DO, WE NEED YOUR HELP! If you own or know someone who may have a business who would be willing to donate or sponsor, email us at bhsfootballredhawks@gmail.com. This will take place earlier this year than previous years on July 11th. Any gifts players collect there will be a raffle prize drawing for the players.
  • SUU Summer Camp - We need to find out if your boys will be able to make it. Camp is from July 14-17th and it's very important your boys can be there. Camp fees are $375 and they are due before we leave. 
  • Red and Gray Game - This is another one that we will need all hands on deck. We'd like to ask parents to sign up for a small window to help with the concession stands. We want you to all still be able to watch the game but we will need some small help with both supplies and concessions. This game will be a week before the regular season on August 8th at Bountiful High School.
  • Team Breakfast Assignments - The breakfasts will be held during varsity class so if you have a Frosh player, just be aware that these are for them and the younger boys don’t always attend. This year we are trying something new.  Many hands make light work . . . we are asking that one parent per player sign up to help with one team breakfast & gatorade for that evening. Breakfast teams will consist of 8 parents.  Team breakfasts are held each Friday (unless otherwise noted) at 8 am. Each breakfast team is responsible to provide all food items and at least 4 parents to assist that morning with set up, serving, and cleaning up.  Paper products will be provided.  Please plan on breakfast for 75 players & coaches.  Each breakfast team will have a lead parent assigned to organize and contact the other parents to decide menu items, assignments, and other logistical details.  If there is a need for grills, additional funds, or supplies please reach out to one of the football team moms.  
  • Senior Night - This is another chaotic event so we ask those who ARE NOT senior parents to please sign up and help so that senior mothers will be able to help. This will be held at our last home game of the season on October 15th after the football game. I've included the link to the questionnaires that we also need senior parents and students to fill out.
  • Recruiting - We are working on helping those students who do want to play at another level but we need to know who is interested. Please understand that just because you want to play doesn't always mean that you will play and play at the level you hope for. We want the boys to be focused on school as a top priority and we will work with our connections to help boys who show that they can play at the next level. Fill out the questionnaire and we will work on setting up an effective program.

Field Day Sign Ups


 

Hey Redhawks, please sign up for a slot to help with both Muir Elementary and Boulton Elementary field days. We'll need 8 kids for each slot. You can sign up for multiple spots, or multiple days and earn a "U" make up.

2025 - Football is Back!


Volunteering Opportunities

Football is just around the corner even though it feels like weeks since we wrapped up. Few things to know this upcoming season as well as links to sign up for any volunteer positions. Any extra help, no matter how big or small, is always appreciated. 

Please reach out to our team moms, Lindsay Fekitoa and Kelli Manning, if you have any questions or if there are other ways you'd like to help this upcoming season.

The soonest we have something happening is on June 7th for the BYU Royal Clash, then on June 14th will be another 7v7 tournament up at University of Utah for both skill and linemen competitions. We are needing some easy grab-and-go snacks for the boys. To sign up, use the designated Sign-Up Genius link below.


Following that will be a new fundraiser with Saroni happening on June 21st from 11am to 6pm. We will ask that the boys take shifts and ask if parents could also volunteer a few hours sitting with the boys and supervising. The Sign-Up Genius link is below.


Happening on June 23 & 24th is our annual little league football camp. If your athlete volunteers for both days of camp, that will cover the 7v7 fees as a trade. It's a great atmosphere and it's fun for the kids to be able to camp along older siblings or athletes the watch each Friday night. We will need a few parents to sign up for smaller shifts to help the camp run smoother by helping athletes check-in or the water filling station.


Our annual Golf Scramble will be happening on July 11th and we will need all the boys to be there plus a few supervising parents. If you also have some tents or coolers on hand, we would love to use them for the day if possible. 


Our Red/Gray Game that will be happening on August 8th. We will need parents to rotate shifts with the snack shack as well as contributions to be made for fundraising efforts. We couldnt do this without the help of volunteers so any extra hands that can help, please do.


Last, but not least, is our Senior Night on October 15th. We like to have the senior moms be with their athlete so if we could please have anyone who'd not have to be on the field that night to please help in another way. We need help with balloons, banners, lei making, etc. for this night so some can be done in advance. 


We will have a lot more opportunities needing donations for our weekly breakfasts and smaller things so those Sign-Up Genius links will be sent in the weekly emails.

We look forward to watching your boys develop and get better each day on and off the field.

Semi-Finals: Week of November 10 - 16

Don't stop!!  This team can do anything when we show up and work together.  Let's grind every minute of every day! We are one of 4 teams in 5A that get the privilege to practice and play this week!
