WEEK of July 14 - 20

 SUU camp was a success! Despite the record heat and a few injuries, we had an amazing time.  The boys worked hard and grew together as a team! A major shout out to all our coaches who sacrificed their time to be with the team this week, and to our team moms who fed us extra dinners and organized a team movie to beat the heat! We have a great group of boys who showed gratitude and ALWAYS said "Thank You". 

Up next, our team Golf Scramble Fundraiser. We have filled the available foursome spaces, and still looking for a breakfast and lunch sponsor if your are interested in hosting that! Also, we are still accepting raffle prize donations until TUESDAY, if you haven't done so! Don't forget to check the Blog for the sign up genius link, for items we still need help with on Wednesday!

Arrive at Bountiful Ridge golf course at 7:00 AM. We will talk more about expected behavior while at the golf course this week, but it would be a good idea to look into golf etiquette on your own. Event will finish around 12:30 PM

**Park on Bountiful Boulevard NOT in the golf course parking lot. Every player will need to bring their own chair and a large water jug. Wear RED jersey and black shorts.


Thursday -

WEEK oh July 7-13

 We hope you enjoyed your time off for moratorium, and are ready for a great week at SUU camp!


A few items...


Golf Scramble is NEXT week! We still have a a few foursomes and sponsorships available if you have anyone interested. Don't forget that our players get $100 towards their fees for the year for EACH sponsorship/foursome/hole advertisement they bring in. Sign up HERE

We need a few parent volunteers to sit at holes with our boys during the tournament and to let us borrow coolers and shade pop ups. Sign up HERE

We are still looking for raflle prizes for the golf tournament! If you have anything you would be willing to donate (gift certificates, prizes, gift baskets etc) we would be grateful! Reach out to a team mom with any questions. We have a few fun prizes for players who bring in raffle donations, you can have your player take donations straight to Freck and he'll give them a ticket for a chance to win!

The RED/GRAY game is just around the corner, and we'll jump into that right after the golf tournament! Be on the lookout for signups for that soon!

Monday-

MANDATORY! For those signed up for camp (all welcome). AM and early PM practice for heat acclimation. Two helmet only practices are required before you can practice with pads.

PERSONAL WATER JUG! (1 gallon jug is recommended for every player, it is going to  be a hot week and everyone needs to stay hydrated)

ALL required football equipment (practice pants and knee pads, mouthguard and girdle

Workout clothes - 4 days

Toiletries (any personal medications)

Extra pillow and blanket for added comfort

Extra spending money for: Tuesdays drive down (lunch), added snacks to supplement throughout the week -if so desired!

WEEK of June 23-29

We had so much fun competing on Saturday, our BIG GUYS and Varsity team 2 came out on TOP! Great work!

A big thanks to everyone that helped with our service project last week.  We had 4 neighborhood yards and 2 schools that we were able to help clean up. It was great seeing how much work we could do in a short amount of time, and everyone was super grateful for the extra help. Thanks for giving back.

***Card sales ends WEDNESDAY 6/26 - Turn in starts at 12:00 PM at Bountiful High Weight room.

*Remember that players earn $17 per card sold towards fees. Our team goal is 25 cards per player which equals $425 towards fees, covers SUU cam and a little more. We have received additional cards and players can sell as many as they would like. To cover the $960 of fees, a player would need to sell 56 (we have already had 7 players sell over that, any extra money fundraised will go to the program, but players still receive an additional money grab every 10 cards sold, after the first 20).

The golf scramble is July 17th!!  We still have foursome spots available and in need of sponsors and prize donations! Please reach out with questions! A link to register can be found HERE

Our team store is live and you can order your fan gear now! Girdles can be ordered there if you still need one. The store will stay open until mid August. You can choose the shipping option to have the orders shipped directly to your house as you place them!


REMINDER- we are off next week, July 1 to July 6, for moratorium. SUU waivers will be sent home this week and ask for a physical copy of the waiver returned by Thursday this week.

WEEK of June 17-22

Happy Father's Day to all our great coaches! We hope you had the best day and are so grateful for you in the lives of these boys! Thank you for loving them!

Another fun week upon us. The Grantsville 7/7 tournament.  We'll have all of our teams there this Saturday to compete. The team moms have put together a signup genius and will be providing lunch for the boys. Thank you in advance for your willingness to donate, and a shout out to Dicks Marketplace for generous support!

Team Service Clean Up Day - 8:00-9:30 AM. We have set up some opportunities to help clean up some neighborhood yards and local schools and encourage everyone on the team to participate in this team service opportunity. Players, please fill out thie google form to list your availability.  Service Opportunity


Saturday

Grantsville 7's and Big Man Challenge (everyone). All players participating need to complete the waiver that can be picked up this week at football. Remember to bring water, sunscreen, and snacks. We welcome all to come watch and support!


Important Info/Events in June

  • Card Sale Turn-In - Tuesday, June 25th at NOON. Anyone that didn't receive cards or wants more, you can pick them up from Coach Freck this week. Remember players receive $17.00 toward fees per card sold.
  • Golf Scramble - reminder that players can receive $100 toward fees for any sponsor brought in. For prize items brought in, players receive a ticket for the football team prize drawing (includes Nike Gift card, Dicks Sporting Goods gift card, Beto's gift card...) Top 5 players that bring in the most overall sponsors/prizes will receive a coaches bucket hat. Please continue to help find sponsors and prize items for the golf scramble.
  • Girdle pants: To try and decrease overall fees we will NOT be purchasing and providing girdles this season. We are planning to include a girdle option on the team store (should be ready by the end of this week). Girdles can also be purchased from most sport stores and we have some left over from last year that players can purchase. Talk with Coach Freck if interested.
  • Sophomore equipment issue next week on Monday, and Freshman equipment issue next week on Wednesday.

WEEK of June 10-14 2024

What a great first week of football! Our turnout for the Little League Camp was amazing. Thank you to all the boys who showed up to help, I think they love working with the youth, as much as the youth loves them! It's been great having them back in the weight room and they are excited to put in the work.

Our golf tournament is on July 17th, and is a huge community event for us and plays a BIG role in supporting our program. We try and make it a great time for everyone who comes out to support us and we would love your help in finding prizes for our give away! If anyone owns a business or knows anyone who does, those are great places to check. Please reach out to any of the team moms with questions.

This year to encourage participation, players will be receiving credit to their fees for bringing in golf scramble items. A video will be made and uploaded to the blog this week, but players will receive a $100 credit for bringing in any of the sponsorships available. Refer to the flyer for more details but this includes any of the Red, Gray or White sponsors ($100 regardless of level), Breakfast, Lunch, Course Snacks/Drinks, Hole Sponsor and Stadium Advertisement. We want the main area for players to focus on, to be the Hole Advertisement. Businesses can purchases a yard sign to be on a hole for $125 and players will receive $100 for each yard sign sold. For any prize items that players collect, players will receive a raffle ticket (1 per item) for our own team raffle and the chance to win prizes (this is different than the golf scramble prizes). Players are encouraged to gather as many prizes as possible. Again, more information will be provided to the players in person and in the blog video shared later this week.
