Link to Summer/Fall Schedule Here
Hello Football Family,
As we prepare to start into Spring Football I wanted to get some
info out. Our official program/parent meeting will be on Wednesday, May 1st
from 8 – 9 PM in BHS fieldhouse. The purpose of this email is to get the
calendar and initial information out for the spring and summer. I apologize
this will be a long e-mail. Please feel free to reach out directly if you have
any questions or concerns.
SPRING PRACTICES
All Spring practices will be weather permitting, bad weather
will equal a cancelled practice. Due to the continued construction of our
stadium, we will not have access to our field this spring. We will hold our
varsity practices at Rockwell Sport Complex (1431 South 1800 West, Woods Cross,
UT 84087) on Wednesdays
in the morning from 6:45 – 8:00 AM, Mar. 27th – May 8th (*no
practice April 3rd). Because of the size of the field, we
will have to limit practices to varsity only. Freshman who are participating in
a spring sport with Bountiful High are also invited.
We will hold practices and weightlifting for all current 8th
and 9th graders (not participating in high school spring sports) on
a separate day. Again, we will not have access to a local field so we will have
these practices in the main gym at the High School. The plan will be to
practice on the gym floor from 3:30 – 4:30 PM, and then move up into the weight
room for a lifting session from 4:30 – 5:30 PM. If there is bad weather, then
spring sports will have the priority use of the gym floor and we will move to a
classroom and review scheme on the board and through film. These
practices/lifting days will be Mondays, from 3:30 – 5:30 PM, Mar. 25th
– May 6th (*no practice April 1st). *On Mar. 25th
starting at 5:30 PM we will have a quick parent meeting for any parents of 8th
graders to answer any questions.
We will also hold 2 Saturday practices:
April 13th & May 4th at Rockwell Sports Field. Varsity
9:00 – 10:30 AM and 8th/9th 10:30 – Noon.
*Note that priority should always go to
‘In-Season’ sports. We love multisport athletes and like our players to be
involved. Missing a spring practice will not effect playing time in the fall.
To respect spring sports, we will also not hold any practices during spring
sports state tournaments. Based on how our spring sports do in state, more
practices could be scheduled during the last week of school (May 22nd
– May 26th).

We have decided to return to SUU again
this year for team camp. This is partially due to the stadium construction that
will be taking place all summer and will make using our field tough. We would
like to invite all players to attend and plan to have a varsity, JV, and Frosh
team with practices and scrimmages for all groups. *Likely to have practices
for heat acclimation on Monday, July 8th in the AM & PM to
prepare for camp. More information TBA
TEAM PARENT SEARCH
We will be looking for 3 new team parents for the 2024
season. We would like to continue the model from last season and have 2 senior
parents, and 1 junior parent. Team parent’s main responsibilities include: Team
Meals, Red & Grey Game, Team Activities, Golf Scramble, Senior Night &
Senior Banquet. Remember that parent involvement will never affect playing time in a
positive or negative way – No minimums. If you are interested in being a team
parent, please reach out directly to Coach Freck. We would love to have these
selected by the beginning of April.
WEBER POWER LIFTING EVENT
For the last two years Coach Walker has coordinated taking
members of our team to go and compete at the Weber Power Lifting Event. Each
year we have had more players join and it has been a great way for us to
compete in another environment and see how we measure up against other high
schools. The event will be held on Saturday, May 11th @ Weber High
School. Players will max on the Bench, Squat, and Power Clean. It cost $20 per
participant. Contact Coach Walker with questions and to register.

4TH TERM
Principal Warnick, who has done a great job connecting
academics and athletics during his first year as principal, has a very firm
policy regarding 4th term grades and eligibility for Fall Sports.
There will be a Minimum 2.0 GPA, with no more than 1 F. In past years, students
that were ineligible would have the summer to complete credit recovery. This
year that will not be allowed to make students eligible.
